The Snow Carnival (2024–2025) transformed Honor of Kings into a winter dreamland, introducing layered seasonal gameplay, icy battlefield hazards, festive rewards, and exclusive holiday skins. Running from November 28 to January 8, the event celebrated the season with both challenge and joy.
For this event, we were asked to compose the loading screen music, designed to capture the magic of winter while following a detailed cinematic structure. The score evolves alongside the visuals—ethereal snowfalls, magical transformations, playful mishaps, and festive grandeur—while subtly weaving in thematic references to Let It Go and Into the Unknown as emotional anchors.
Our approach blended:
– Light, ethereal textures to set a magical winter tone
– Playful and lively passages, underscoring comic and cheerful moments
– Gradual climaxes, portraying transformation and castle building
– Beautiful orchestral brilliance, grand yet elegant rather than overly epic
The orchestral soundtrack was recorded at FAMES Studios, bringing cinematic depth and richness to the final result.
The result is a soundtrack that immerses players in the joyful spirit of the Snow Carnival, balancing festive warmth with cinematic elegance.
