Shan Hai Skin - Dolia & Liang In
Inspired by Chinese classics such as the Shan Hai Jing and the Soushen Ji, the Shan Hai Skin project immerses players in Shanhai Qidu, an oriental fantasy city where mythical creatures thrive. The music was composed by Zeneth, and we collaborated by creating the voice melodies for Dolia’s track and the introductory passage for Liang In.
Project Details
TiMi asked us to collaborate with Zeneth on the music for the Shan Hai skin series, bringing to life an oriental fantasy city inspired by the Shan Hai Jing and Soushen Ji—two classical Chinese texts filled with mythical creatures and folklore.
Our role was to design and compose enchanting vocal melodies that would perfectly match the characters’ identities, while maintaining stylistic coherence across the soundtrack. For Dolia, in particular, we spent significant time crafting a theme that is:
- Memorable and simple, yet effective and emotionally resonant
- Magical in tone, reflecting Dolia’s ethereal and enchanting personality
- Integrated with the global musical design to ensure consistency with the heroine’s world
- Collaborative with Zeneth’s core themes, adding layers of vocal textures that elevate the music
- Additional refinement, enhancing the intro of Liang In’s track to strengthen its atmosphere
The result is music that immerses players in the mystical aura of Shanhai Qidu, blending Zeneth’s core themes with our vocal and melodic work.
