Directed by Zhang Yimou, one of the most famous film director in china, the trailer reimagines the mythic world of Honor of Kings through the lens of the San Xing Dui archaeological civilization, merging ancient ritual with cinematic spectacle. Reaching over a million views under 3 days on the Honor of Kings' official YouTube channel
We were asked to create a musical identity that felt sacred and timeless—reflecting both the cultural depth of the museum collaboration and the spiritual tone of the visuals. The result is a score built on ritual rhythm, ancient sound design, and ethereal human voices, uniting past and present in one cohesive sonic world.
– Stone chimes, drums, and ancient percussion, establishing the ceremonial atmosphere
– “Dunesque” female vocals by Lara Ausensi and 陈抒妮 (Chen Shuni), ornamented like ancient chants
– Male Chinese choirs, emphasizing martial ritual power
– Simple, memorable melody, balancing purity and strength
– Hybrid orchestral writing, recorded at Synchron Stage Vienna and Fame's, adding depth and grandeur
The score was co-composed with Víctor Herrera Calvo, mixed by Joël Dollié, and produced with VNTA — a fusion of historical authenticity and modern cinematic craftsmanship.
